Founded in 2017, the Generation of Progressive Youth (GOPY) is a youth-led NGO dedicated to breaking the vicious cycle of mental hardship in Zambia.
The "Mental Concept" Strategy
Our organization was born from a realization: A mind fed with torture or abuse reproduces anger and depression. In 2017, our founders discovered that 86% of youth in our communities were unaware of mental health resources.

Our Mission
To promote mental health awareness and reduce the prevalence of drug abuse among the youth of Lusaka.

To birth a healthy mental life in every individual, impacting not just families, but the community as a whole.

Membership in the GOPY is open to every youth in the community. We are an inclusive movement that believes everyone has a role to play in advocacy.
